I think I've decided to take the middle path, didn't Buddha say the middle path leads to enlightenment, or something like that?
This morning I went to Anchorage Baptist Temple, listened to Jerry Prevo, this afternoon went to Anchorage's 'gay' church, MCC and listened to the gay pastor (sorry can't think of his name) Since I went to both places with an open mind, I was able to see the stories people had were separate from the peole themselves, well at least that's MY story, haha.

I'm playing with the idea of creating a 'neutral zone' outside Loussac this coming Tuesday, June 23, when the whole shebang starts up again. The 'neutral zone' will be a place where people leave their signs outside 'the zone', inside shirt color is irrelevant, people can forget about colors, ordinances, signs, agendas, and just be people. Maybe talk about other stuff, or not talk at all, hopefully peace will ensue.

The bible says there is a time for hate and war, and there's also a time for love and peace. When I choose the middle ground, I experience much more peace, and the wanting has lessened or disappeared.

If you want to help create the 'neutral zone' let me know.
Mary
lukn4frnz@yahoo.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850048301451111235.post-62558139492486374892009-06-11T14:18:39.081-08:002009-06-11T14:18:39.081-08:00Ogre. I'm having a hard time with that cognitive dissonance.Strange Attractorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16164412906076335124noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3850048301451111235.post-37404487543766682762009-06-11T09:13:55.714-08:002009-06-11T09:13:55.714-08:00Ouch. "Was blind, but now I see" is not...Ouch. "Was blind, but now I see" is not necessarily a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I'm afraid that I have come to see fundamentalism (in the broad sense) as the enemy of the kind of society that we--human beings--can survive in, now, in a world where we have such power over things like the ecology and, increasingly, the basic stuff of life.

Which doesn't make those embedded in it evil. Just dangerous.ogrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15910505029382522110noreply@blogger.com
