One question

Why is it that when President Obama apologizes for for American arrogance overseas he is a traitor who does not love his country and is not fit to hold public office, but when Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachman prays on a live "prayer cast" that our country deserves the Wrath of God she is a true patriot who stands up for values and who is trying to save America?

Can someone explain this to me?

  1. Talking down America overseas to a foreign audience is a difference.

A Congresswoman little known outside American polical junkies and conservatives vs virtual world class rock star another.

  2. Good point, SA. An analogous instance of hypocrisy was the fuss over Rev. Wright's "God Damn America" -- taken out of context -- contrasted with a group at the 2006 or '07 so-called "Values Voters" convention who sang (to the tune of "God Bless America") a song saying "Why should God bless America?" in light of all our nation's transgressions against their definitions of "God's Law".

  3. But Bill, she was praying to God that we deserve His wrath. How is that patriotic? How is that even reasonable opposition. In the Bible, God's wrath came down on Sodom & Gomorrah, on all but Noah's family before the Flood. It is somehow pro-America to view that as our deserved fate? I don't care if she is a pig-farmer, people who make public statements like that have no right to criticise the patriotism of the left. It's just blatant hypocracy.
